This past week we had dance camp! And let me tell you it was a busy week. Getting them to and from dance, working, then power going out so not being able to work, then activities so we aren't just sitting in a hotel the whole time in the evening.
So where to start exactly. First day we got in to the city, had to go get groceries so that I didn't have to pay for eating out every single evening (I would have gone broke!). Got all unpacked, somewhat sorted and organized. We had gone to drive past to make sure we knew exactly where to go the next morning so we weren't rushed or lost for that matter. Tried to put the girls to bed early, which we did but there must have been a bit too much excitement as they just could not fall asleep. Then when they did fall asleep, one kept trying to hog the bed and the other decided to sleep walk. So that was a bit hectic.. so I didn't sleep much the first night.
Monday morning, I got up early, made my coffee, started to do some work so that I could go for drop off to the studio for the first day. Got the girls, up dressed, lunches packed and went for breakfast. We left, did drop off, and they must have been excited as they barley said good-bye to us. So ok then, I guess we will see them at 4pm. Went back to hotel as I had some work to do. As I was working, all of sudden all the power went out in the whole hotel. So needless to say, work for the day was a real struggle, and I couldn't get things done like I wanted to. 4pm came, picked up the girls and let me tell you.. there was nonstop talking.. oh lord the talking!! Got back to the hotel room, only to have the girls devour grilled cheese sandwiches. I don't think I have ever seen those 2 eat that fast.. so they must worked hard to be that hungry!
After we got changed into some comfy clothes, and off to the theatre we went to watch the new Jurassic World. Now when it comes to a movie like this, it is quite entertaining to see the girls reactions. SPOLIER ALERT - The Dinosaur at the end was some sort of weird mutated dino.. and the girls wouldn't stop talking about how weird he looked! I was a little bit upset that the T-Rex wasn't shown more than he was.. I loved how he always came to the rescue at the end some how.
Tuesday was pretty easy day.. they went to dance camp, came back to the hotel after, and we simply jut had a relaxing evening of supper in the room - don't worry nothing fancy just some hamburger helper, then the girls swam for almost 2 hours. We watched a movie in the room, had some snacks, did a craft and to bed they went. I think this was the night we all got a good sleep.

Wednesday hits and we had plans! As you guessed, dance camp (that really was what we were there for!). After camp, we were headed to an escape room. But first we needed a snack. Sienna suggested maybe we stop at Dug & Betty's - now this is an ice cream shop we seen everyday on our way to the studio for camp. So we agreed, stopped got ice cream.. and it did not disappoint! All their ice cream is home made by them right there.. highly recommend!! We got to the escape room, had a blast.. and yes we escaped with 15 mins to spare. Supper was Grammie's choice, and we went to Red Lobster. Once again the girls devoured there meal, and Sienna thought she needed to keep trying to crack my crab - which she did ok at.
Thursday was also a relaxing day for us adults. I got a bunch of work done during the day while the girls were at camp. then it was a nice easy supper of Taco in a Bag, and then ice cream at The Forks. Early to bed, and get things ready for the last day at camp.
Friday was the girls last day at camp, and the girls were sad but excited. They had worked so hard all week, and got to do a performance for the parents, and I cant say enough of how proud I am of them! We then surprised (sort of) my niece with a cake from Jenna Rea Cakes as she follows them and has always wanted to try something from them. Then off we went to Brandon, for the start of another adventure for the weekend.
This weeks post is short, but man the week was busy!
Until Next Time!
Kayla
