Wedding Time!!

Wedding season is among us folks!! And let me tell you.. I am so excited I can't even begin to explain!

This year our family has 2 important weddings in our lives. 

The first being my cousins, Justin and Maddi. Now let me tell you, this wedding was perfectly non-traditionally traditional. Yes, think that one over a minute. Here is why I say it was that..

They had the ceremony in my aunties front yard, then they did pictures in the pasture.. the photographer may have stepped in cow shit, and the reception was held in their shop.

After a busy day before setting up, helping getting things organized.. this silly couple thought the best idea ever was to give me the microphone for the evening and asked me to be their M.C. Of course I said yes!

So I thought long and hard.. do I tell stories of my cousin and embarrass him.. no that wouldn’t be very nice.. as we went to sit down for supper, and everyone is going up to get their food, I call table by table.. then it hits me.. I NEED TO DO THIS!! I go to the photographer and say “hey I need your help” we secretly discuss and make a plan.

The evening carries on, supper was great, the drinks were flowing, speeches were said, the first dance happened - just beautiful, then the dance with the father of the bride, and then mother of groom. Then it was my time to shine.. my time to make this lovely couple embarrassed!!

I get on the mic, and say “so for of those you don’t know, 5 years ago at my wedding my cousin Justin decided to have one too many beverages try to speak Spanish with a mouth full of ice, and give some random girl a lap dance to try and win a bottle of rum! He won that bottle, but it is only fair that he recreates this moment and gives his lovely new wife her very own lap dance!” I put a chair in the middle of the dance floor, made Maddi sit down and the music hit!! Let’s just say.. my cousin owned it and did not disappoint!!

The lap dance was done, the party kept going. We danced, there was singing.. more drinks. Midnight snack was superb (taco in a bag.. or bowl!)

One of the best parts of weddings, is getting to see family and friends you don’t get to see very often, and make new friends you didn’t know you needed in your life!

A wedding like this hits all the feels.. you cry happy tears, you laugh.. oh the laughs!! Makes you reminisce about other weddings, your own wedding. Things you would do if you were getting married, or things you would or wouldn’t change. We all think those things when you’re at wedding.. but it really doesn’t matter what you think unless it’s your own.

This wedding.. I wouldn’t change a thing! It turned out just perfect for the couple! The weather, the guests, the love.. it was just the perfect day!
